Getting to Nicaragua is fairly easy the available infrastructure is much better than you would expect. Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge is strategically located to the south of Nicaragua’s most important tourism destination Granada and just north of the Costa Rican boarder.
Your arrival at Morgan’s Rock depends on your travel budget, desired time spent traveling and where you are coming from and leaving to. You can book your international flight either to Managua, Nicaragua, Liberia, Costa Rica or San Jose, Costa Rica. Most of our guests arrive in Nicaragua by way of Costa Rica, having spent a portion of their holiday there. Some airlines allow for so called “jaw tickets” to be booked that allow arrival to Costa Rica and departure from Nicaragua.
The modern Managua International Airport is served from North America with direct flights on American, Continental and Iberia. The regional carriers Grupo Taca and Copa offer extended connections from North- and South America as well as extensive connections within Central America. San Jose International airport receives various daily international flights with US carriers such as American, United, Continental, US Airways and Delta. Delta and American service the Liberia International Airport just south of the border with Nicaragua with scheduled flights.

From Managua, Nicaragua |

We will meet you at the airport exit or your hotel in Managua and take you in one of our modern air-conditioned vehicles to the Hacienda.
Taxi travel time to hotel: 2 hours. Taxi cost (one way): $100 (4 person per vehicle maximum). |

From San Jose & Liberia, Costa Rica |
| |
You have the choice of taking a daily flight on Nature Air, a well-established regional airline from San Jose to Granada where we would meet you with our vehicle and take you to the hacienda. Cost one-way is about $120 and flight time (with a stop in Liberia) about 1.5 hours. If you chose to take this flight from Liberia, one-way cost is $65 and travel time about 40 minutes.
Taxi travel time to hotel: 11/4 hours. Taxi cost (one way): $70 (4 person per vehicle maximum).
Another option is a Nature Air flight to Liberia and a ground transfer to the Nicaraguan border. We would meet you there with our vehicle and take you to the hacienda. Air tickets San Jose – Liberia are about $150 per person and ground transfers to the border $85 (4 person per vehicle maximum). Travel time depends on traffic at the border and varies between 2 and 3 hours.

From Granada, Nicaragua |

We meet you at the Granada airstrip or your hotel and take you in one of our modern air-conditioned vehicles to the Hacienda. A city tour of Granada at the time of your arrival is optional.
Taxi travel time to hotel: 11/4 hours. Taxi cost (one way): $70 (4 person per vehicle maximum). |

Other ways of arriving |
| |
Some guests travel with a rented car and detailed directions are available upon request. Our partner car rental agency “Alamo Rent a Car” has operations in both Costa Rica and Nicaragua and offers a service of crossing the border in Penas Blancas. For more information on this service, contact info@alamocostarica.com. There is also the option of hiring a private charter that takes you from San Jose, Costa Rica to Managua Costa Rica. Go through immigration in Managua and then land on a private landing strip in San Juan del Sur, very close to Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge. Travel time is about 2.5 hours (including immigration) and the cost per charter is $1,400 one way (5 person maximum).

The most spectacular way of arriving |
| |
By far the most spectacular way of arriving at Morgan’s Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge is by boat. We will meet you at the marina in Flamingo, Costa Rica and take you on our own custom built “Noah’s Arc” directly to the private beach of the hotel.
Travel time is about 3 hours and cost one way is $950. |
